Try to get to Maverick for dinner. Chef/owner Scott Youkilis blogs at The Foodies Digest and his food looks fantastic!
Word. I'm heading up next weekend to visit family.

Scott, thanks for the rec. I'll run it by the group and see if people are interested. We've got a few places lined up for this weekend: Blue Plate, Delfina, Burma Superstar and Mustard's Grill in Napa.
Chubz, nice only for the weekend? We'll be going to Napa/Sonoma to start some trouble.
Hi EDBM - Have a nice early hoiday!
given your anti-sweet stance, I take it citizen cake is not on your planned (or unplanned) itinerary? ;)
Kirk thank you. Likewise.
H.C. i've been to citizen cake. i saw the desserts in the display case and quickly walked outside b/c it was sensory overload. i can't handle it haha. i want j to try it though.
D, I *lurv* SF and the whole Bay area! :) I was there 1 year ago (eating my way through and doing crazy things like a day trip to Chez Panisse, Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty before finishing at the French Laundry). Happy days. On another note and a year later, I just completed a crazy eating crawl in Chicago, having a blast at Avenues, Moto and Alinea (to name the big ones that have me enamoured). However I still love the Bay area and can't wait to return. Looking forward to your post.
Renee, hey! wow, you ate at bouchon, French Laundry AND Alinea in Chicago. If i ate like that i'd have to resort to cup o' noodles and hot pockets fo the rest of the year! SF is great. We're eating at a nice place called Blue Plate tonight. We'll definitely be providing a detailed report on SF eats. This place rocks!
If you're going to Citizen Cake, stop by Blue Bottle Coffee a couple streets over at 315 Linden (opposite Absynthe).
Have fun!!! I'm so jealous!!! ;)
thanks for checkin out the site! tell DJ Jer i said hi... are you hitting french laundry finally? or do they still need like a 3 month advance reservation ><
*sigh*
so jealous. wish work weren't such a lead weight here in la.
looking forward to living vicariously through your pix...*hopefully* some from the ferry plaza market :)
What?! You came up to SF and didn't tell me?!?
That is okay though, 'cause I need to give you some intimate time with your lady too. (I understand that I can't monopolize all that time for myself!)
Sneakypete, we didn't get to go to Citizen Cake. Only drove by it. Thanks for the rec though.
Bola, we're back! Sonoma is great.
Rameniac, we went up to Sonoma... didn't go to Napa. A dinner at French Laundry isn't going to happen anytime soon unless I start starving myself.
Sarah, hey we checked out the ferry building. it's a culinary mall - love it.
PE, sorry! J and I were up in Sonoma for most of the time. i'll be up in SF again in Feb/March. Lunch for sure!
Only drove by Citizen Cake? I'd run my car into the store and make a spree "Supermarket Sweep" style, haha!
I love the Ferry Building too.
